as anyone who was in the Boy Scouts can tell you, there are many ways to produce fire without a flame. The ol rubbing two stciks together works but it does take a while. The very basics you need to make fire is a heat source ( friction ), tinder (dry grass or leaves ), or a spark from flint on steel.

Here's a different way you've probably not thought of.Take a piece of paper.Put a little gasoline on the end of it.I got this from out of the carburetor of my car by taking off the air filter. Then ignite it by using a piece of metal to make a spark by shorting across the battery terminal of the car battery.Make sure the gasoline end of the paper is close to the spark. Is this dangerous? Yes. But so is playing with fire.I did this once when I took the family out for a picnic and forgot a lighter to start the charcoal.

While doing the rain dance to make it rain, throw in the extra dance steps that create thunder and lightning. If the lightning hits some dry forest there comes the fire.

The latest easier gimmick is a magnesium stick, You slice off shavings from it with your knife and pile them on some tinder. Then you hit some steel on a rock. When the spark that results hits the magnesium shavings they burn very hot and intense and easily start any tinder to begin your fire.
