Yes. I customise my default browser to IE and enable access to Firefox browser in the Add/Remove Program menu through the Set Access Program and Defaults box on the left side and choose Custom. Then tick your settings. Hope this helps.

Absolutely. I myself have both. I make Firefox my default browser and only use IE7 for those rare sites that are still loyal to IE. Firefox is by far the most secure.

You shouldn't be using either, both are incredibly unsafe to use with many exploits and are frequent target by hackers. Instead use either Mozilla's Firefox or Google's Chrome or others. Really, any browser is better/safer than IE.

No problem, your Firefox will be the default browser, preferably
opening with a different mail account if you have one. Otherwise
use the same but make sure that you make it "default" in the
Firefox Preferences.
