well, you re ready to go and make calls!!!! but the other party also got to have yahoo.voice....or you will need calling/out...get your credit card ready, and just charge 10. dollars at the time!!! yes, you can call a land-line, but you gotta sign up for it!!! I call my old aunt of 92, and she does't have a computer, so I call there yahoo.voice...calling in/ and calling out....you get a number from yahoo so they can call you on your computer....I use my web-cam/ headset too...

You can do this easily with a headset or microphone.

If you are a BT customer you can download BT Softphone that will allow you to make a Pay As You Go Account and you can call PC to PC free, and PC to Landline at standard BT charges. (daytime 3p/pm and evening and weekend 5.5p/ph)

If you have BT Broadband you can subscribe to Broadband Talk that allows you to make calls over the internet free in the Evening and Weekends. You can get that by calling 0800 800 150

If you are not a BT customer you can make calls from PC to Landline using Skype, Dont know what they charge.

If you are not in the UK but in US you can download Yahoo Messanger that allows you to make PC - Landline calls at as low as 1c per min.

Hope this helps

the simple answer is yes you can download skype it is a free down load and i use it all the time but you need to put the numbers in in international format i.e. for all calls in Britain take away the first 0 and substitute it for 44

I use Skype on my PC, and as long as you buy some credit on skype-out then you can call landlins or mobiles around the world.
