I am working on a sheet with alot of calculations. My problem is this: when i multiply $30862.23 X 29.25% i get 902720.23 the answer i need to get is 9,027.20 and i am not sure how to make this happen. Please help!

It is all in your cell formats.

Format your first multiplier ($30,862.23) and result as $ and your second multiplier (29.95%) as %, being sure too that you set the number of decimal point you want as well.

Click in the cell and go to format cell.

You should bet the results you want..

In the menu use
Format-> cells-> Number tab

If the format is percentage, change to a number. and use the decimal places.

You can alway use the formula in the cell
=20862.23*29.25/100

Highlight the column which needs to be rounded. Right click. Select Format Cells. Select number. Enter the desired number of decimal places.

In the Category list, click a category, and then click a built-in format that resembles the one you want.

In the Category list, click Custom.

In the Type box, edit the number format codes to create the format you want.

well instead of placing the percent just divide by 100...

ie 30862.23 X 29.25/100

go into tools and choose format, under the format tab choose number and under that tab you can set the decimal location
