I can't do anything right. All I do is cause problems for the people I care about the most. I'm so tired of all this. I know it will hurt them but I just can't do this anymore. I'm in so much pain right now and I can't imagine anything ever getting better. I've been to therapy and I'm on medication but nothing really seems to be working. Is it selfish for me to kill myself? Should I stop thinking about how I feel and concentrate on how it will affect the people I care about most?

Yes that is selfish, I am sure many people have felt that way. I know I have but doing something like this would not solve any problems. If you feel you have hit bottom then the only way to go is UP! I know you can do it, as I said I've been there and it's not fun. Focus your abilities on something else. You can make a difference it's just finding your path. take care. Send me a note if you want to chat about. Otherwise be strong for you. Take care.

If you really care about these people you say you are hurting, then stop, simple as that. Get your act together for yourself and stop trying to be a martyr.

Counseling helps, only if you do your share of the work, it isn't a magic cure you know. A counselor doesn't wave a wand and POOF! you are all better. You have to be totally honest with yourself, if you aren't then no, it doesn't ''work". Medication should only be for mental disorders or suicidal thoughts, which it seems you have.

Killing yourself is not only selfish, it's murdering yourself. Do you want to commit murder? I think not.

I've been very depressed for a couple of very good reasons, so far down in a pit, I thought I'd never get out. But I did. You need to figure out what got you to this point. They say that depression is anger turned inward. What or who are you angry at? Be honest, that is the only way to deal with this fully.

Nothing from the past can hurt you again, so don't be afraid, look at whatever comes up and deal with it, then you can move on. I know you can do this. I did and I am alive and well and helping others. You have a purpose in life, you need to get well and find out what that is...it's waiting for you.

Yes, it is extremely selfish to kill yourself.
You need to realize that your perception is cloudy because of your depression and things aren't as you see them. If your medication isn't helping, then go back to your doctor or go to the emergency room and tell them about your suicidal thoughts. Some anti-depressants can cause suicidal thoughts. Get help now, spend some time in the hospital away from your everyday life problems and friends and family and you'll be able to put things into perspective.
I don't know what your beliefs are, but I believe that if you do this it will only be the beginning of your suffering and there will be no help for you then. Please seek help now!

When you're depressed, it seems like you can't do anything right. Give the medication and counseling time. Sometimes it takes a while for the doctor to find the right medication/medications for you. It would be selfish for you to NOT give it time. You will feel better, it just doesn't seem like it right now. Trust me.

First I am really sorry u feel this bad. Remember that feeling will pass and please still be here when that happens. U know u never know what joy u might miss by bailing out now. Could be love, money,a good friend, even a child. Just keep telling urself u r safe and comfort urself until that terrible feeling passes ok. If it gets unbearable please go to the hospital or tell someone how u r feeling and by all means consider the people who care for u. God Bless Curious 2006

Stop thinking about it. Go for a walk to the store. Go shopping. You aren't perfect. No one is. Only God is perfect. Nothing can change it if I broke a glass yesterday. I can't make it look like new. I can only learn from it and try not to do it again. We are all human, and that is why things always get better, because we always learn. If you can't shake your feelings with the walk, go to the emergency room. They can give you something to make you feel happier and you can talk to them in more detail as to help you with the situation.

Yes it is selfish to kill yourself. Think of how your family would feel. If you are feeling suicidal then you should go to the nearest hospital for help. Go to one that has a Psychiatric unit. If you truly want to kill yourself then please go now.

You need to be on some other kind of medication if the one that you are on isn't working.

Yes you need to stop and think about how it will affect other people. Call your therapist or a crisis line and get help now before you do something selfish. Please go now.

There is nothing in this world worth killing yourself over. God will not give you anything that you cannot handle. i think you need to talk to someone asap. Talk to your mom or dad or call a profesional. But dont kill yourself. Thats the chickenshit way out. And yes it is selfish. Think of the people who love and care about you. Talk to someone now. Call a crisis hotline, do something.
