for fairy cakes, I'm thinking baby pink, baby blue and light yellow like the kind of cakes that nicole kidman makes in the stepford wives....can you get food coloring in that colour?

You just use a very tiny and I mean tiny amount of each normal colour to make it pastel.
I used a droplet thing and put one spot to make it light pink and not red or you could water it down by putting a drop in the lid and then spot of water to dilute it and make it lighter.

A good supermarket should sell this stuff. Otherwise, generally speaking, you can use natural dyes such as cooking with beetroots to give food a pink colour and safran for yellow.

Just add less of the food colouring, or use natural food colouring, like a bit of crushed strawberry, or some orange juice!

I'm just guessing, but you might try mixing red and blue food coloring with milk or cream.
