Witchcraft is as real as religion. Religion is a fraud.

There are 'sensitive' people in every civilisation who can prophesy, or make rain or are able to communicate with animals and trees. This is quite normal - with an open mind we could all learn more about the psychic energy of the planet, or spiritual communication. But it needs a bold heart to withstand the scepticism and scorn, because there is a long history of charlatans fooling the gullible and separating them from their money.

Ever since the 15th century, anyone with a gift of foresight, the ability to cure with herbs and concoctions was accused of witchcraft. In competition with the Wise women - who were the healers and midwives of the community, were the Christian monks who made a meagre living from healing-by-prayer. Because the women worked mainly for nothing - or accepted payment in kind, they were greatly respected, and there is no doubt the monks disliked the power the women wielded. Christianity - as a male-run faith - was misogynistic, probably through St Paul's attitude towards women Some spark or doubt over their practises started monks accusing women of associating with the devil. The monk's false accusations made about the Wise women caught on and flared throughout Europe. Women in that century owned property, ran businesses and inherited land. When the whole of Europe was seized by the 'witch craze', any woman accused of being a witch, had her property confiscated by the church. Some women's families had their property conficated down to the third generation. Women were burned in batches of a hundred, and the gay men, who were accused of consorting in their activities, were bundled together at the bottom of the pyre like *******. That word for 'gay' has lasted until the present. Like the hollocaust, those 300 years of killing women have been buried - it is hardly mentioned in history books and is denied by historians. The magnificent cathedrals and extravagant vestments of the clergy appeared in the same centuries so the source of the church's riches isn't hard to calculate. But this is why the word 'witch' is feared - mostly by women. Not for what they can do to you, but what society did to them. There are people who can see the 'aura' of those around them - it would be unwise to suggest you friend doesn't really see the fairies. We are not all gifted.

Well thereon lies may assumptions.

Wiccans and other pagans, define God and magic totally differently than you do. So the answer to your question could be no and yes. In addition, there are people who have an anti-christian religion but they usually call themselves Satanists rather than witches.

Imagine if a pantheist, asked if you God is real, then why can't I see him?

First supernatural is different. To the pagan pantheist, there is nothing outside nature and thus they don't go for the supernatural. The Gods are in nature.

Magic is even harder to define. Again, its not quite what we'd expect. You witch friend would likely define it as the "manipulation" of symbols or something. It is sort of an ideal thing. Anyway, its a rather nebulous concept which is more than the pagan will tell you but less than we would think.

If you want to have fun with you wiccan friend, ask her if the Gods exist. Sadly your fun won't help her with her problems.

Anyway, lastly witchcraft is really a family of religions and to boot they often make themselves a bit secretive.

A non-christian might ask you, why if God is so powerful, you have so much trouble in your life. Every Christian has thought through this question, but it puzzles the outsider.

In the end, I'd say, respect your friend's faith. There are tons of books on Wicca, feel free to read some but understand that all their definitions are totally different from what we'd expect. I like to think of their religion as simply another way of looking at the world.

Witch Craft defines the artisan workings of a person who is termed a witch by people.

If they actually had an artisan practise, then it is real.

African "Witch" doctors, Native "medicine" men and women in the dark ages actually did have "cures" for things. Real cures.

Bark from a specific tree, for example, releives pain.

We use it today in a purified form. It's called Asprin.

It's a wonder drug and women and "savages" were using this long before learned doctors caught on to it's power!

Now, if that's a reason to burn someone at stake or stone them to death, what can I say.

When people, out of repression, become hateful and make a "potion" to do someone in, that is not a cool thing and some women and "saveages" get driven to do those things.

They call that black magic.

Today they are called Trolls on Y/A who spew hatred and malice because they have pain inside.

Maybe they need an asprin or some tree bark!

Just because a witch can perform spells,.doesn't mean they are good at it. Some people lack the concentration level for real successful magick. I have always managed to get by. Some don't understand that the magickal path means walking the path of the spell, not just asking for it.

The Bible is wrong about Witchcraft. It's not evil. Just like any other tool, it can be used for either. Wicca (a religion of modern Witchcraft and Polytheism) is bound by an oath not to harm others.

Witchcract and witches are real. I happen to be one. I'm not surprised you haven't seen fairies - you don't seem to be looking for them (not trying to be disrespectful, just saying).

Witches can certainly perform spells. Some work, some don't. Yes, you can cast spells for prosperity and protection, but if you don't act in accord with those spells you effectively negate them. For instance (and I'm not saying this is your friend), if you are poor and have a hard time putting food on the table and cast spells for prosperity, then keep signing up for new credit cards, well...

As for why bad things happen to her despite protection spells, if there are lessons that she is supposed to learn and she's not learning them, then the Universe is going to keep sending the same teaching tools at her, often with increasing harshness. This is true regardless of your religion.

It's real. Scripture talks about it, and there are many who follow Wicca today. There are a variety of reasons for the results you mention. Fairies are a variety of spirit that seems to be rather neutral in the war between good and evil. Spells generally take advantage of the abilities within the human mind. Lots of people don't understand how to make them work properly, and so get poor results. Much of witchcraft is based on pre-scientific knowledge, and is perfectly harmless, like herbal medicine and self-hypnosis. But it can also open doors that can be very dangerous. Demons are also real, and can take advantage of the unwary. THAT is why witchcraft is considered dangerous by the Bible.

Witchcraft can mean different things. It can be the wise man or wise woman who knows how to use herbs to heal. It can be a religious practice such as the modern day Wicca.

Does it work? Sometimes.

Why does the bible say things against it? The bible condemns the practice for one of two reasons. Some use the power without giving credit to God. And also the old ways were a threat to a new religion.

Witchcraft is unquestionably genuine yet has really not something to do with devil. Witches do not renowned any devil, it really is an completely Abrahamic idea and by no potential something to do with magic(ok). I have by no potential heard of putting forward spells in latin yet i assume you may want to in case you needed to. it would want to even upload potential - yet purely because you position extra potential into it. the different language might want to artwork both to boot yet you should appreciate what you're saying. Witchcraft is utilizing organic potential to convey about a necessary effect, which incorporates healing someone or bringing solid fortune. - Joanna Eve

A witch working a spell is basically attempting to do the same thing that a christian praying supposedly accomplishes.
If Christianity works, then why are there so many poor christians?

Sometimes people like to think they are witches but who knows why. Witchcraft is from the devil. I know I just stepped on some toes and they'll disagree but anything you do for the devil ,he expects something in return. Usually your soul. I don't know when people will understand that he is a liar and a deceiver. I was once told by someone they hated me and were going to cast an evil spell on me. I laughed at them and told them to go ahead and try because the one that is for me(God) is much much stronger than the one that's against me.
