I am not a religious man, sir; but I do think that theft is a Sin worth confessiing to. Of course, it would be my duty to read you your rights if I caught you and we'd give you the chance to do that there.

Premarital Sex is a question, Sir. But definitely worth confessing to, so that you may benefit from the priests advise.

Use of "recreational Drugs" as you know is both illegal and a sin.

While the curse words, per se, may not be the focus, the Anger and Hate behind them would be confessional material.

I wonder if you are aware that the act of striking your chest and saying "Mea culpa, mea culpa, ... mea maxima culpa" is, in itself, an act of penitence?

Have a nice day.

First, don't you remember what you were taught in Catechism class? No? OK, then if you are returning to the church after sometime away you need to do more that to just pop into the confessional. You need to make an appointment with the priest. You might want to do what is called a life confession. To do this properly requires more than a few minutes with a priest that you do not know.

As I have said before, Sin is anything that separates you from God, other people and yourself.

PS. For those reading this that do not understand the Roman Catholic, Anglican, or Orthodox practice of confession, let me explain. God is always there to forgive us, through Jesus. The priest stands in place of the community (the body of Christ) that is harmed by the person's sin and forgives for them and by the power given them as a priest for God. The second part of this is not necessary, it is true. However, it helps many people to know that they really are forgiven. Also the priest can give counsel to the person. God works through them to minister to the penitent.

Dear Ryan, your real issue is not that you need to go confess your sins to a preist, rather, you need to flee to Jesus in repentance and faith so that he can forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life. let me explain why........

Do you consider yourself to be a good person?

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and the BIble says "he who hates his brother is a murderer." have you ever hated someone?
beairng in mind that Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name,. The BIble says If you will Repent (turn from sin) and place your faith and trust in Jesus, God will then forgive you of all sin past, present and futer and he will grant you the gift of everlasting life. Jesus died for you for this reason, Dont go to a preist go directly to Jesus nd confess and forsake your sins and trust in Him today, please, it is a matter of your eternal salvation.
God Bless

Dear, you don't need to "go" anywhere to confess sin before God. The bible says: there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ. Just talk to the Father, in the name of the son, and repent of your sin. Ask Him for strength to walk a righteous path. God bless you.

I can't help you. I'm Protestant, and we confess directly to the Lord. The one Mediator between the Father and man is the Son, Jesus Christ.

1 Tim 2:5-6
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time . . .

The only one you need to confess your sins to is God through his Son Jesus Christ, No man can forgive your sins only God can do that. So save your money & tell God what you did & ask him to forgive you.

You do not have to confess to any man. Confess to God. Ask Jesus into your heart, and make confession to Him.

Well it looks to me like you have already confessed and therefor can stay at home. Simply ask God to forgive...He is the only one who can grant you forgiveness anyway.
