A friend gave me a nice cotton comforter (padded) that I love, and last night when I went to bed I smelled urine. Does anybody know how to get the smell out? I have already thrown out two kitchen rugs recently. Everybody says you cant't get the smell out in the wash, but there must be SOMETHING out there that works, I don't want to lose this new comforter. Thanks very much in advance for any serious answers. Thanks from my kittie and me!

Try Tide with Febreze and wash it twice. Since it's cotton, it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, there is a product called Odoban that works great on pet odors. You can use any laundry soap and add Odoban to your wash as instructed on the bottle. You may even get the smell out with one wash!

Febreeze sometimes get it definitely wash it.
Go to a store like Walmart and get kitty odor remover
Soak the soap in vinegar
Use douche. Soak it a day or two in douche

OK that is a couple of suggestions. Having had a cat that sprayed for years (died of old age) I have tried all those and more.

If you can show kitty you don't like it that would help too.
Be consistant and show kitty the spot and firmly say NO

The problem is even if you don't smell it kitty will and may repeat.

Kitty was marking you as belonging to him.

a fabulous style of the chemical ingredients they use in fabric scent like urine to a cat. thinking it grew to become right into a sparkling comforter, there's a severe likelyhood that this grew to become into the reason for the concern. Washing the comforter some cases in some cases works, or making use of an quite good smelling fabric softener. yet while the fibers of the comforter are rather saturated with the chemical, even that isn't help adequate. you are able to lay a plastic sheet over the mattress till he gets the belief. purely get a affordable bathe curtain from the dollar save or such. a minimum of that'll guard the bedding.

Try a cleaning spray made specifically for animals. Not only will this take the smell out for you, but it will take the smell away for the cat. This is supposed to prevent the cat from smelling this spot and repeating the mistake.

A good cleaning spray should be found at any local grocery store.

hope this helps :]

Try Nature's Miracle (Cat Formula) and soak the place on the comforter with it, let it soak. I usually let it dry all the way, then wash the comforter.

I have tried a number of things and have found Zero Odor to be the most effective. They have ads on TV and you can also get it from www.zeroodor.com.
