The doctrine of "Sola Scriptura" ("Bible Alone") was virtually unknown to the Early Church, upon whom fell the Holy Spirit on the First Pentecost.
The Church predates the canonized Scriptures. It was the Church that canonized the Holy Scriptures. Ergo, the Holy Ghost was active and working before there even was a "Bible".
The Apostolic Fathers had only fragments of what we would call a "whole" Bible (distribution of the scrolls and codex manuscripts was very regional in nature and no one congregation used all of what eventually became "the canon of scripture" - the Eastern Orthodox Christians still do not fully accept "The Book of Revelation" - and I assure you that the Holy Spirit is active and working amongst the Eastern Churches!) - and their writings and lives were certainly inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit also works though the Church and Holy Tradition...the Holy Spirit certainly does work through the Bible - but the Church never even heard of anything like "Sola Scriptura" until the beginnings of the Reformation with Wycliffe and Huss, then Martin Luther and Calvin.
The Holy Spirit also works through each Christian, by using our own Holy Reason.
The "Bible Alone" dogma cannot be proved by Scripture. Even if it could, that would be circular logic at best.

The importance of god, the holy spirit and all spiritual influence depends on your personal relationship with forces greater than yourself. No one religion or belief system is better than another because they were all created by man. God does not exist as a being. God is the energy that provides the life force in every living thing throughout the universe and is not exclusive to human beings nor to believers or nonbelievers. The Bible was written by men who were inspired by a revelatory vision, nothing more.

The Holy Spirit is God. He can work in and through anyone or anything He chooses. He certainly works through The WORD. He also works through individual Christians,( Preaching, Witnessing, The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit.). I have even experienced Him working through circumstances, even circumstances that were unpleasant. I have experienced Him working through the ungodly, unbeknown to them.

Holy Spirit is God's active force - what he uses to accomplish his purposes.
We can pray for Holy Spirit. And if it is in harmony with God's plan he grants it.
The Bible is only a book.It is inspired of God and is very beneficial if we want God's favor.Because in its pages we are provided with knowledge that only our Creator could provide us with. However,Holy Spirit does not work through the Bible, only through Jehovah God.

The Holy Spirit of God works as s/he wills, and will be limited by no man.
What was the Scripture? The wind comes as it wills, and no man knows its comings or goings. So it is with God's Holy Spirit.

He seriously can work through both. He spoke through the people who wrote and were in the Bible so when we read and learn from the Bible the Spirit will work through us as well as individually.

If you read about the promise of Christ you will see that on Pentecost, God The Holy Spirit came to earth to dwell with all believers. He resides in every born again Christian. He remains on earth this very day.

The Holy Spirit is GOD. He can work as God works. However He will always be true to Himself. This mean that His actions will always be consistent with Biblical authority. Jim
