You can quit by reducing your daily intake systematical. There are two ways you can do it.

1. Prolong the intervals between smoking systematical. Say 'n hour in between for about three days, then two hours and so forth till you finally have no time left. By this time you will be able to go without a cigarette.

2. Assume to start smoking at seven in the morning and stop at about 10 at night. Now, start at 8 in the morning and stop at 9 at night for about three days. Then start at 9 in the morning with your first cigarette and stop at 8 at night. And so forth till there's no hours left.

I hope it works for you. I did for me! Good luck.

Because you asked the question and because you are living on this planet where the effects of smoking have been well documented, you obviously are aware of all of the ill effects this horrible habit. Therefore, rehashing how bad this habit is for you, your body, your family, etc., would be pointless. You know all of this stuff.

"Habit" is the operative word here. We never get rid of bad habits by will power. What we must do is replace a bad habit with a good habit. Every time you have a cigarette, write down what you were doing, feeling, thinking. Do that for a week. After a week, review your journal - find out how you can replace that bad habit with one that will be more beneficial to your life. For example, if you smoke after having dinner and you think/feel that's just so relaxing perhaps you could replace having a cigarette at that time with going for a walk or taking 15 minutes to call a friend or work on your hobby.

Smoking is a habit - habits are decisions WE MAKE. Since we create our lives and our habits, we can change them. Decide to change this habit into a more productive and healthier habit.

The good news is that you are in control of this habit. You can do it!!! Believe it and just do it.

I smoked for around 15 years, and tried several times before I finally quit for good. 1) you have to be ready. You'll know when that time is when you are sick to death of smoking and don't want to do it anymore. 2) if you're like me, don't go into gas stations (pay at the pump) and avoid the cigarette isle at the grocery store, these were both temptations. Also, avoid drinking alcohol and avoid bars like the plague for a while. These are also huge temptations. There are a ton of ways to quit. You'll have to pick the one right for you. I needed the stop smoking pill to quit. I've quit for a year now and feel great! good luck!

Well here are some facts you might not have known I know I didnt for a while that pepole are more addicted to the heavy breathing in and out that you get from a ciggerett .So if you are trying to quit and you are getting stressed try breathing in and out to help relax.try avoiding pepole that smoke for a few days and try smokeing half a ciggerett and first then slowly start smokeing less and less of it and gradually wing your self off of them buy some gum to keep on hand and try buying some nasty ciggeretts that dont taste good to you like liggets or something.and remember green tea has been proven to reverse the effect of smokeing Good Luck you can do it if you truley want to I did it is hard but you will feel so good about yourself once you do.

It's all about will power. The best way is to just stop cold turkey. But you have to be ready; you have to really want to stop. I had tried to quit before and I really didn't want to I just knew it was bad for me and that isn't enough, you have to really want it. How I over came it was any time I wanted a cigarette, I would think to myself, I will not let this little in-adamant object control my life, I am stronger than that, I will not be controlled by a piece of paper with tobacco inside. Thinking that way, gives you perspective and if you say that to yourself and keep yourself from smoking the need just goes away and it's a great feeling to overcome that need and get a sense of accomplishment. You feel that you have won; you beat the cigarette.

I smoked for many years. You need to make a commitment to yourself. I just got sick of the smell and my hacking. I was worried about the damage I was causing to my lungs. Every time I puffed on a smoke I was not getting any satisfaction, so I finally decided that was that. I threw away my smokes and gave my lighters away. It takes about 3 days for the cravings to go. What you have to be aware of is trading your smoking addiction to a food addiction. You don't want to gain too much. Know you prob will gain and just get over that. The benefits are so rewarding! good luck-

Check out your local Health Department or Hospital. Many hold free smoking cessation classes that will help you and you get support as well. They will even give you vouchers to get the patch, gum and/or lozenge free of charge or for just a few bucks. Good Luck!

Think about it alot, the bad stuff that happens to your body. Get it inside your head. Imagine your lungs getting gray then black all through the years, and your heart choking, then think about the fresh air coming in and helping you heal once you quit. Imagine it as if you are inside your body, like on the show CSI when they show stuff happening to someone like getting shot. Learn to hate it, not just that it hurts you, but that it goes into the air and hurts everyone who breathes the air around you too. Know you will be showing you love yourself and others more when you no longer hurt yourself and others. Think about how you are no longer willing to ingest poison, and that you will no longer support the big fat paychecks of the owners of tobacco companies. Think about that money ($500-$2000 bucks a year) in your bank account. Think about your teeth being white again, and your breath being fresh. Meditate on it. I quit cold turkey years ago, but try anything you can, please. The gum, hypnotism, or sheer will. Good luck to you.
