I heard them being said on "gilmore girls" they say when they watch movies they want to order take out eat popcorn and Malimars. Are Malimars some sort of chocolate? Is this a U.S. thing?

It's Mallowmars, actually. But it's a cookie topped with marshmallow and covered in chocolate. Yummy!

Mallomars. they are made by Nabisco
Basically, they are a marshmallow on a round graham cracker with the whole thing dipped in chocolate. for pic see link below.
Lots of people make some variety of these. Nabisco even makes a similar marshmallow sandwich cookie. You can even get them in some Dollar Stores. They've been around as long as I can remember (and I'm no spring chicken.)

Mallomars. It's a chocolate which involves marshmallows,and a pie type/cookie crust on the bottom. They are soooo good, but really fattening, so I guess you'd splurge on a movie night and have junk food like popcorn and chocolates.

malimars are a type of chocolate cookie-thing, i know which episode you're talking about. i've never eaten them before though.
