the main problem with meal replacement shakes is that once you've lost the weight that you wanted to...you stop the shakes. But you haven't learned how to eat properly...you haven't learned what a "good diet" is. Thus, you will return to your prior eating habits and most likely put the weight back on.

A healthy diet is the best way to lose weight. Limit your portion sized and choose healthy fruits, veggies and the right carbs. There are lots of websites books to help you do this.

actually, they do work. If you get the right ones. Slom fast is a quick fix, you will normally gain it all back. I used a meal replacement shake to lose 95 lbs in 8 months. I have kept it off for over 4 years now. So the one I used works. I can give you the website to the person I got it from. www.loseweightnow.com/tfward

Yes, meal replacement shakes work if you are using them in place of a meal. They are a great way to lose weight, add protein to your diet and are convenient. I have never heard of someone getting bad breath from them (sounds like a completely different issue there). They are generally low in fat. Just be carefull not to have a shake then eat a meal.

As long as you don't eat any meals along side the shakes.... if you take in less calories than you're getting now, you're bound to lose weight...

You can lose weight on them, if you follow the plan as directed with plenty of exercise and no cheating with heavy fatty snacks. However, in the long run, they are not as healthy as eating a balanced, high fiber, low fat diet with exercise. They can get expensive if you are doing them on a long term basis. Check with your doctor about the best plan.
