The Latin word persona was originally used to denote the mask worn by an actor. From this it was applied to the role he assumed, and, finally, to any character on the stage of life, to any individual.
There are a number of perspectives on this question - what is the legal definition of a person, the spiritual definition, the medical definition, the philosophical definition, etc. Is a person the physical body, or is a person the mind, the spirit, the intellect, the soul, the psyche?

A being born and raised by humans(Not a product of baboon lovin').
I also think if they are being kept alive by machines they are no longer a person. They are artificially alive. I guess dignity and values, but they vary.
