Hi there...generally unaltered male cats will spray to mark territory, however it isn't unusual to see a male cat leave his calling card in various places either such as the tub. However, whenever a cat inappropriately soils it could be a symptom of either urinary infection, constipation or gastrointestinal parasites--all which would need to be evaluated by a veterinarian. Some cats will inappropriately soil outside the litter box if there's associated pain while relieving themselves inside the box believing going elsewhere is less painful. Another couple simple possibilities is that this kitty isn't comfortable with sharing a litter box with his mates as well. As a rule there should be one box per cat plus one extra. Additionally, boxes that are not cleaned more often will result in a feline protest if it's not to their standards.

Kristy is right on the money. My sister had two cats and they were both fixed but after a year or so the male started using the tub instead of his litter box.
He had no health problems but she changed his diet to a higher protein food and went from cleaning the litter once a day to twice a day and replacing it completely on the third day. He's a happy camper now and uses the litter box exclusively.
If your cat has worms, please take him to the vet immediately, they could kill him - slowly and painfully.

Are they only using one litter box? I know that some cats like to have their own space and don't like to go in a box that has been used. I know that my cat has in the past gone in the tub because I had forgotten to clean her box after each use.

If you want him to stop pooping in your tub then put aluminum foil in it and just take it out when you take a shower. My cat loved to poop on my moms new couches and we put foil on them and I don't know why but she never goes on them when there is foil on them. I don't think it has anything to do with worms some cats just like to go to the bathroom in certain places.

It could be that he does not want to share his litterbox with the other cats. Cats can be very finicky when it comes to the freshness of their litter too. If he has worms go get him treated and that could help. Also, my cat had urinary problems and i got her adult urinary cat food at walmart and it works really well. She has gained weight and uses her litterbox again. Plus, her urine doesn't smell like it did before.

Sometimes with multiple cats, you need multiple litter boxes.
