I was recently diagnosed with Factor V, which came about because I had a deep vein clot in my arm. Can anybody give some advice about precautions to take (I'm on coumadin for three months) in the future? Or just tell me about their own personal experiences?

Factor V Leiden Thrombophilia is the most common inherited disorder of blood clotting. It is the result of a specific mutation in the gene for factor V which leads to increased risk for clots in the large veins of the legs (deep venous thrombosis), or clots that travel though the bloodstream and embed in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). It is inherited in an autosomal dominant manner.
Please see the webpages for more details on Factor V Leiden syndrome and Anti-coagulants (coumadin).
