If you are married, whatever credit score one partner has is considered a credit score for Both/Each... even if she tries to establish credit...it will be Joint because you are married. Sure she can get a credit card in only her name, but it will be your credit that will allow companies to issue it.

You have to get a job. How are you gonna pay? Unless, you foot the bill. But I'm assuming you have other responsibilites of the household that you have to take care of. Your wife should get a job.

I'm married also, and my hubby and I have horrible credit. We're in the middle of a bankruptcy settlement and realized we have to do what it takes to establish and keep good credit. She can do it...

building a good credit score takes a long long time, what i would advise you to do is start off small, go get a small loan from your bank, co sign for her or maybe a credit card in hers and your name, pay all the payments on time and that will get her name established but like i said it takes along time to build a good credit score....good luck to the both of you.
