There are prophets in Christianity who can tell people things in their lives that God wants to reveal to them and what God is wanting them to do in any situation or for Him. All true prophesies given will align with God's word and the persons receiving them will have an inner witness in their hearts or spirits that God is really speaking to them, New Testament prophets will not speak words of condemnation for Christians for God's word says there is now now condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus - Rom 8:1. But if anyone should receive any prophesy they should consult a mature Christian or their spiritual leader to test the prophesy for there are false prophets around who will deceive Christians. Prophets can also be anointed with healing gifts by God. Prophets do not operate like soothsayers.

The Bible tells us that there will be many false prophets, false teachers and false messiahs; some will even be able to do miracles and great wonders in order to deceive many people. I suggest that you be very careful with someone like this. The Bible also tells us to stay away from fortune tellers and psychics. If you want to know something about your future you are to seek the answers only from God.
Isaiah 8:19 says: So why are you trying to find out the future by consulting mediums and psychics? Do not listen to their whisperings and mutterings. Can the living find out the future from the dead? Why not ask your God?

There will be false idols who may or may not have healing powers.
Carefull for this is a trick to pull the lost ones into a trap. He is not the Man of God.

A soothsayer is a fortune teller. There are no fortune tellers in Christianity. Be careful also of the "false prophets"--people claiming to be called by God to preach and do His work who are no more called by God than my sweet cat.

Great question!
Please consider these tidbits:
Jews for Jesus = Vegetarians for Hamburgers
God? He or She?
Church? Christianity? Jesus? Dying?
What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?
Does Imacculate Conception have anything to do with "VIRGIN BIRTH"?
Google Imacculate Conception and learn that is NOT.
What else do you falsely believe?
Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .
If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.
Can Gods die?
If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?
Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?
No Eternal sacrifice, big deal for a day!
If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.
If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!
Life after death is like virginity after childbirth.
If the flesh of Jesus died, what was seen walking and talking on Sunday?
If you believe this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to believe it too to validate you.
Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.
Believing and not thinking is like choosing to be lost.
P.S.

God clearly teaches us not to participate in soothsaying and most people who have claimed special gifts have been proved phonies. stick with God's word as He has given us everything we need there.
