Yes we have got lost. It took us down all the back streets and alleys one night and we ended up in the sticks, in the middle of nowhere and It promptly announced, "You have reached your destination!" At which point I think we both looked at it with malice and threw it back in the bag. Found the nearest lot of lights and followed them to a very kindly farmer who told us how to get back on to the main road. We never did reach our destination!
A friend of ours also had rather a bad experience. He was following the directions that his sat nav was giving him and it had already told him to go down a one way street the wrong way, which he had avoided. But it then took him onto a dual carriageway, unfortunately he didn't check which way the traffic was flowing and ended up in hospital next to the guy he'd pranged. Both his Audi tt and the merc of the other driver were write off's. Beware!

Never - I'm smug and never use Sat Nav - I've heard too many people having bad experiences with it!
I prefer to use a map, and generally find where I'm going pretty easily - if I do take a wrong turn, I can work out where I am, whereas with Sat Nav, apart from it abusing you for taking the wrong turning, you have no idea where you've ended up!
Stick to the lo-tech, my friend!! :)

At a course ,One of the students came in one hour late after following instructions on his plaything ,
He ended up in a swimming pool complex. Miles away from the real destination.
Sometimes they work sometimes not.
