You have to keep telling yourself you can do this. I have to get rid of the choccy biccies and stuff otherwise I do eat them all. It's probably not a bad idea to stop the kids having them anyway. Get something to replace them that you can have which are low in fat, not as costly as a chocolate biscuit. Weight watchers do individually wrapped packets of choc bics and loads of other stuff. I find that if I have to open a packet it usually stops me eating loads as there are only two in the packet. We eat the jumbo snack-a-jacks, caramel flavour, as well. Get a packet of tic tacs or something similar and drink loads! I can't praise water enough or even cups of tea. If you feel full you are less likely to go picking and of course drinks do that in a low calorie way. I like plain fizzy water and there are times where I have removed myself to the bathroom for a long soak with just a bottle of fizzy water to stop myself eating junk.
You Can Do It!
Good Luck!

Try a slimming group. There is lots of support and they help you make long-term lifestyle changes for life, not just a crash diet.

There's no reason why a diet shouldn't include some chocolate. It sounds to me like that is where you are going wrong. If you start out thinking 'I can never eat chocolate again'. you are doomed to fail.

Personally, I think exercise is more key than diet. Depending on how overweight you are, you can start out walking or swimming for low-impact exercise and then when you are ready, try an aerobics class (or a tape at home) or the gym. Also, remember your resistance training (ie. weights). I also recommend yoga or pilates. It's very low-impact but feels lovely and relaxing. If you exercise, you naturally want to eat more healthily because a)it makes your workout easier if your body is well-fuelled and b) you don't ruin all your hard work by eating crap afterwards.

So exercise and don't deny yourself things because if you do you will just crave it more. Take it slowly and don't beat yourself up if you have a bad day.

There's a great book called The Food Bible that will tell you all you need to know about nutrition and includes some really good eating plans to help you lose weight safely and relatively painlessly.

Also get out in the fresh air with your kids - take them to the park, on walks etc - you'll feel better, be getting some gentle exercise and won't be eating either.

Set yourself up for success by getting rid of any rubbish food in your house - the kids don't need chocolate biscuits, crisps, sweets etc and then you won't be tempted to eat them. Sort out a healthy eating and activity plan for your whole family and that way you won't feel like you're doing it alone, it will become a way of living rather than a diet and you'll all be a fitter family as a result.

I know you can do it - good luck!

1. A safe level and effective level of weight loss that is about 1-2 pounds per week. More than that could be unhealthy is is usually not lasting. Look to make lasting changes in your diet and lifestyle, then you will keep the weight off.
2. The only way to lose weight is to take in fewer calories that you burn. There is no secret to it. You can do this by dieting to lower your calorie intake, exercise to increase it, or a combination of both. Depending on your current activity level, even adding some walking into the schedule can help.
3. If you are like me and love to eat, increase your activity level and add some muscle. Muscle is more compact than fat but weighs more...and it burns more calories while you are resting.
4. There are many effective diet programs that you can follow on your own or join. These programs do a few things: they can help educate you on proper nutrition; they help you control portions and calorie intake; and, they usually require you to keep a record of your eating behavior. Find one that is comfortable for you if you think it will help, or do it on your own.
5. Writing down everything you eat over a few days can be very helpful in terms of identifying your problem areas.
6. There are some helpul resources available from the US Government, including suggested diet and a calorie tracker that allows you to evaluate your food intake for calories and nutrients, and compare it to the calories that you burn through daily activities. I have some articles on my website as well. Links are shown below.
Good luck!

Try to exercise 10 minutes at a time a few times a day just by walking inside the house or in your yard if you can. If you can't walk, exercise sitting down while listening to music.
Eat yogurt instead of cookies once or twice a day.
Try not to eat any sugar. After a while your body won't crave it.
Drink several glasses of water a day.
Imagine your body slim and trim wearing new clothes.

eat low carb diets, like stay away from too much rice, sugar, pasta, and bread, and eat lean meats, poultry, and fish. exercise 30 minutes 3 times a week to start then increase to 45 minutes and etc. until you reach 2 hours. And you can have your a weight loss chocolate snack like slimfast chocolate bars or something like that, or even it probably would be all right to have one choc buiscut a day.

Ok don't worry. First of all it is possible to lose weight and eat the foods you like. What you have to do is; look at your diet and then get a right balance between all the food groups. Eat LOADS of fruit and vegetables and drink LOADS of water. Do 30 minutes exercise a day every day. Dont forget to exercise. Its really important. But seriously eat a range of foods ( even a rew biscuits) and follow my other instructions and you'll soon see the difference. Good Luck

You must find a good Naturopathist who can coach you into a better food intake diet.
Now listen close to this............ cause it is important to YOU

Start "slowly" replacing the foods you eat now with fresh raw vegetables and fruits.

Start to eliminate dairy, bleached flour, bad fats, and sugar.
Cook with Cold Pressed Coconut Oil (very important). Eat whole grain bread.

Slow down on the starches-your body converts them to sugar (potatoes, eggs, pasta)

You must start to replace the foods you now eat with healthy ones. You can eat just as much but only raw fresh vegatables and fruits.

Turkey, chicken and especially fish are the only protien and "make them small portions".

Your body will react as you rid yourself of toxins so be ready to suffer like a heroin addict. Drink plenty of raw veggy juices and water. Do you want it bad enough?

Supplement chocolate cravings with a carob/bannana shake made with ricemilk.

Educate, Educate, Educate yourself in this area and become an expert

All meaningful change comes from within, want it bad enough? or are you just spouting?

Fight and slim or Die Fat and knowledgable.

PS It took years to get this way so give it a while...know what I mean?

God Bless

When you need food go out with the kids and do some walking in the park or countryside, anywhere you can't get at the shops. When you get back reward yourself with a biccy or cake cos you deserve it.
Do exercise and reward yourself, don't eat just for the sake of it.
Eat when you are hungry but always little often because your body will think that there is a fimine if you suddenly stop and needs to buid up fat to last it out.
