You need to discover the reason or source of your back pain.

I fractured 3 discs in mine 20 years ago and spent 6 months in a back brace (vs surgery). To this day, when they become aggravated I do at home exercises and use OTC pain relievers to manage the pain.

Check with your doctor. When mind first injured my back walked around for a week. When I finally had it checked, I thought I has pulled a muscle, my MD told me I was lucky I didn't twist the wrong way and damage my spinal cord.

If you can't find that one just type in chronic pain there are many good sites that give you alot of info on how to treat and live with chronic pain. Look for the one's that are sponsored by a hospital otherwise all you'll get is advertisements trying to sell you all kinds of things.

I highly suggest you go see a Gastrointestinal Specialist. I just got through spending 14 days in the hospital, wracking up 29,000 in medical bills just find out that I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I never saw a Gastrointestinal Specialist the whole time I was in the hospital - but they ran all different types of test on me. After going to the Gastrointestinal Specialist, he ran a couple of more test and put me on a combination of meds, and since then I have been good as gold. Not to mention, I also have had to change my diet some (much more fiber, lot less processed food) and it not only has helped my stomach, but I've lost weight. You're problem could be something 1,000% different, but I really think the only way you're going to find out what's going on is to go to a specialist. God Speed and good luck!
