Are we like in high school or something?
In the world outside of high school, you like this girl b/c it's an infatuation. You find her interesting and its piquied your curiousity to indulge yourself.
It doesn't matter what her friend has to say. Ultimately it's not her decision. So circumvent the problem, the friend, and go directly to the source, the girl with whom you are infatuated. Simply ask her out to coffee or lunch. Keep it casual and simple.
Remember, girls are like you. They are no different - 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, etc. There is absolutely no reason to get nervous, act weird or anything else.
Warning...don't turn the infatuation into an obsession.
Good luck!

I would not pay any attention to her friend first of all. Second I would call up the other girl or go over to her house and hang out with her and ask her on a date. Just tell her that u like her and would really like to get to know her better. Is there any way that the two of u could go out. U can to like someone without even getting to know them I know cause I have been there myself. So this friend evidently doesn't know what she is talking about.

Sounds like two things are going on here. one, she is afraid you only like this girl for her looks, since you barely know her, and is simply protecting her from a potential stalker. Two. She feels threatened by your attraction to her friend and does not want any one getting close to her at al but her. I think it is the latter. Try getting to know her when her friend is not around (which might be hard) or find someone you know that knows her also (preferably a girl) so she can build you up, opening a door for you so to speak.

My opinion, forget about the friend. If you like this girl try to become friends with her first, get to know her a little better. After that decide if you still like her, if you do, make a move, ask her out alone and see if she is interested.
Good Luck

I tend to have friends that are guys more so then women because they can be so petty. Women usually have the jealousy thing going for them. So maybe you should stop and think, she is acting this way because she is jealous. She is jealous a guy likes her friend and not her.
You either need to put the bestfriend in check. You need to have a talk with the object of your affection and you need to tell the bestfriend to mind her business.

her friend probably likes you that's why she doesn't want you to get to know the girl, put her in her place. And ask the girl you like out on a date without telling her friend. Otherwise I believe her friend is going to go out of her way to stop this whole thing.

Ignore the friend for the time being. HOWEVER...if you and the friend do not learn to like eachother eventually, your relationship with the girl could be over before it started. Friends have to approve of every guy. So play nice.

Ask her on a date. . . away from her friend. Take her to dinner, NOT a MOVIE(you can't communicate in a movie), shopping, or bowling, or something you both can enjoy. This will give you a chance to get to know her and you wont have her enoying friend around.
