Hello
Theres a lot you can do if you just think about it, such as making spag bol, only when you buy the meat half it and store half in the freezer. But I have a treat for you and being a single guy I take it you have a micro wave?? ok here we go....Take one table spoon of sugar, scoop out one level table spoon of cooking fat (butter or marg) mix together either whisk or with a fork (if you use a fork it takes longer to mix in ok) Take one egg and beat into the mix, sive one table spoon of flour into the final mix. Take a microwavable bowl and put in to the bottom some Jam (im from the uk so Jam is like a fruit preserve to me or you could use whatever you want) pour in the mix and cook in the microwave for 3.5 to 4 mins. OMG thats soooo yummy we have it with hot custard over here but I dont think you have that over there but you can have it with whatever you want really...but anyway i have also included a link to a site that might help you okay...so anyway have fun

What ever recipe you are using reduce it to 1 or 2 servings.
Also it is easy to cook just 1 chicken breast or 1 prok chop. You can also buy frozen veggies and cook only 1 serving. 1 medium potato cooked any way you like is 1 serving. Also easy to make a single serving salad.
I've also found that those pre made meat dishes like roast beef au jus and roast & gravy (like Tyson) are really good and with the leftover meat and gravy you can make a burrito by adding refried beans, chopped onion & cheese.
Just use your imagination and you'll get the hang of it.

If you're following recipes, reduce all ingredients accordingly to equal one or two servings.
For example, if a recipe serving 4 people calls for 1c.flour, then 1 person would be 1/4 c. flour.
Wanna eat a good, quick microwave meal?
Cut up boneless chicken or beef into cubes.
Season to taste, microwave covered on high til meat's done.
Cube a potato, take celery stalk & carrot & some onion pieces, mix them in a microwaveable bowl; season and microwave on high for 8 minutes.
On stovetop, make a serving of noodles or rice.
Mix meat, noodles/rice, and vegs and chow down.

The easiest thing to do it break the recipes down. If it serves four, cut it in half; six, cut in thirds, etc. That way you can still enjoy the recipes and you will only have one meal to put in the freezer.

I cook for myself all the time but never really follow a recipe. I'll make pasta with sauce, veggie stir fry, all kinds of hot sandwiches.

In my opinion, for a single person, I would rather you eat out coz it is much cheaper than cooking. Counting the costs for ingredients, seasoning, garnishing, sauces etc...It is cost worthy to cook unless you've a large guests to serve...
