I understand the rice avoidance for weight control, but why are you avoiding veggies? Many of them will actually help promote weight loss and a balanced diet to keep you healthy while losing that weight.

There are so many other foods you might have eaten while not eating rice and vegetables for 5 days. Furthermore loosing weight is not that easy. Try cutting out fry foods and reduce your intake of red meat, pork and eat more vegatables, fruits, peanuts and a 30 minutes walk daily.

5 days is not really enough time to lose weight and keep it off.
If you find your caloric intake for the day. Lets say you eat a 2000 calorie a day diet. You burn 250 calories with exercise, and eliminate 250 calories a day from your diet. That is 500 calories a day, or 3500 calories a week. That is 1lb a week coming off. Add resistant training and cardio will help maintain the weight once it comes off.

Well.....it depends on what you've been eating but why in the world would not eating vegetables make you lose weight?
If you're trying to lose weight eat salads with steamed or baked chicken and fish without dressing.

vegetables are important,so you shouldn't leave that out of your diet. however, you left those out but what about other things like ice cream, pasta, fatty meats, etc.? you need to balance your meals, avoid the fattening things and eat those vegetables! broccoli, brown(not red or white)potatoes, leek, alfalfa sprouts(don't believe the hype, they taste great in a salad),etc. avoid butter on some things and add for a little flavor now and then. eat for snacks cheese on low fat crackers, ice pops, fruit dipped in yogurt or popcorn with 94% fat free butter for a once in a while splurge or popcorn with worcestshire sauce or grated cheese. because junk food is in the food pyramid(sparingly)eat what you like every once in a while.

Why would you not eat vegetables? I ate salad and chicken only for a week or two and lost a few pounds. Vegi's are good for you and meats like chicken and pork are supposed to help you remove weight Also try not eating after 6pm

The best way to lower your weight is to reduce your calories. In addition, choose foods very high in fiber. Veggies are very high in fiber and good for you. Don't avoid them. To increase your fiber just cut out any starchy foods and replace them with whole wheat pasta, brown rice and limit sugars. Another great way to lose weight and be healthier is to cut out meat.
