You probably wouldn't want to hear what I really think but I will answer your question. God did not kill Jesus and Jesus is God. Jesus willingly laid down his life for you. Who really killed Jesus? I did as did every sinner. Try to understand sin is what keep us apart from God. It was the will of God before creation to atone for our corruption it was his plan before the beginning of the world. Why was it necessary? God is righteous his creation is not thus a separation. Can God being righteous be in agreement with sin and remain righteous? No. Righteousness demands a price be paid for sin and the bible tell us that the wages of sin is death. If your with me so far all had sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We're sinners and worthy of death now there is no hope for us but to pay the penalty but God loves us even though we are sinners and as I previously said he had a plan to save us that plan was to come to the world in the flesh and to be tempted the same as a man is tempted and to overcome sin and die in our place a perfect sacrifice for those who accept his atonement for our sin through Jesus Christ....That is the gospel.

You got too many WHY's, Therefore you must not understand the bible, God send his ONLY begotten Son to die for all our sins, Because it took a Perfect sacrifice, That had NO sin in him & God sent his SON because he loves us, & God did not Cross Jesus , Jesus knew why he was in this world & what his death would mean. And you also ask why didn't he wait until the last day on earth, If God had waited, Then there would be no salvation until the last day & God is a Just God so he had to test each & every one of us.

i don't have a son but i suggest you read the entire old testament and well read the new too. you seem to have been mislead by someone or you have heard someone talking about the Crucifixion of JESUS and just caught some of the words and then added your own and just got the entire reality confused. by the way there are many stories in the bible which are facts and the truth. the holy bible is the inspired word of GOD.

Adam and Eve when they sinned as it were pulled the plug on life, the wadges of sin is to cut oneself from life and that ends in death, and it was the Second member of The Godhead Jesus Christ that walking in the cool of the day who came to adam and told Him somday there would be a deliver to rescue Him from the sin he was now living. We because of our nature sinfull, but Jesus came to give us a new nature but the wadges of sin is death, while God is Love He is also Justice and someone must die because of sin, so HE HIMSELF gave Himself, yes in John 3:16 said He [The Father] gave His son, but Jesus gave Himself also. You owed a bill you could not pay so He paid it for you because HE loves you, and IF you love Him keep His commandments Jn 14:15, hay visit A Seventh day Adventist Church in your area this SAbbath [satuday, sunday has never been called the sabbath or holy in ALL the bible] free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com also bible questions www.bibleinfo.com talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

I've never believed in God per se,especially in the Christian model as it were, but if God exists and actually sacrificed his son for these people I would have to consider him a bit of a fool to be honest.

Hi, the answer to this one is both simple and complex depending on our ability to accept it, firstly God the Father did not kill His Son we (the sinful world) did that, oh I know that seems silly but no matter what decade Jesus came, He would have been murdered by sinful creatures who would have hated Him, because of His message, and as He died for sinners and we are such then His death is a sacrifice untill the end of the world.
it might help to picture the scene in Heaven after Adam & Eve disobeyed God.
the Trinity,Father,Son and Holy spirit are grieved at the sin of man, for sin is totally abhorent to God and offends His very nature, man himself had made a free will choice and God cannot or will not ,deprive His creatures of the one thing that makes them unique and indeed human, also because the state of relationship has been reversed in that, this act of rebellion in fact made man an enemy of God, it was not just a simple matter of repentence on his part that would wipe the slate clean again.
God had given man a special grace or share in His own life which was called sanctifying grace, this life of grace was thrown back in the face of God and caused Him infinite offence pertaining to His nature, and could not be restored again by man .
so the second person of the Godhead who we have come to know as Jesus freely, and of His own will said ,Father I will go down there and become one of them and I will restore what man has lost, and because Jesus is God and Man, He took on the consequences of our disobedience in His humanity, and by His sacrifice as a man, was able to restore what was lost by us.
and because He was truly human and without sin, His sacrifice restored the imbalance and made satisfaction in His divine nature to the Godhead.
this is why Jesus is called the first fruit of redemption, God is able to reconcile man to Himself again, because Jesus represents the new man(human kind) and all who would desire the happiness of living in God`s presence(Heaven) for eternity, must believe and follow the Gospel of Jesus, turn away from rebellion(sin) and humbly accept the invitation to now live in obedience to God in Jesus.
not only did Jesus humble Himself to come down from His home in Heaven ,but He humbled Himself to become like the creature that He as God created, a bit like you or me becoming a worm when you think about it, Jesus went even further in His mercy and promised that the Holy Spirit would assist and guide anyone who would choose this path to Heaven, so that we might by His grace be able to turn away from sin and disobedience and be humble.
of course this is only my simplified explanation and for a sound and exact understanding you would need to hear it from a competent Theologian .

I personally don't understand why god needed to sacrifice anyone to get rid of our sins. I don't understand how him letting his son die has anything to do with our sins...
But I'm not Christian, so I dunno.
