If the meaning of life is different for everyone then why are we bound by the same sins? If life is different then sin is also different for each person is it not?

No, the Bible has all the questions, and suggests some of the answers.

The problem is, that like most religious books, there a few individuals who will quote - parrot fashion - from its pages, and believe every word is sacred truth, thus they learn the words, but never really understand the message.

The Bible is a story, perhaps inspired by a 'god', written to explain a complex world to a developing tribe in the middle east a few thousand years ago. Its been translated, and 're-interpreted' many times, its a bit like the workshop manual to a car.

At best, it sometimes tells you where the problem may lay, and how to get to the problem. but you have to look at problem itself to fix it. Its a book of good questions to ask - like all the other religious texts - not the Oracle.

By the way, the answer is 42... but I have been reading Douglas Adams....

There is so much of the bible that is missing. The new testament only has four books that were hand picked by Ireaneus. This was to fit into the Christian beliefs back in the day.
I personally can't say that the bible holds enough credit for me to get such an answer as "the meaning of life"
Try searching different religions and cultures.

The Bible does not answer to all questions. People who think it does are very wrong. You wont be able to find in the Biblie how to fix your PC or what to do after your lunch today. The meaning of life depands on your personal religion. Religion is a system of beliefs. We all have our religion. Even atheists are religious because they have a system of beliefs. They belive there is no God and they belive certain things are good for them. Everybody follows different values. For some people the meaning of life is to get drunk or to play PlayStatiom, for others it will be science or worshipping God. For me personally it is very important to apreciate what I got from the Creator and respect His wonderful gift of life that I can enjoy. As a Christian Im using the Bible to determin what is good for me and what is not and it helps me to avoid many mistakes that could cause harm to me or others.

God made man. The Holy Bible was written by man under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. So God also wrote the Bible through man as His instrument.
The Bible is God's handbook for mankind so what you said about it is not quite correct. If you would allow Him God will direct you to find real meaning and true satisfaction for your life because He will help you to do what you can do most excellently ie what He has created you to do in the first place. Do not miss out on God's best for you.

The Bible works for many people as do the many different religious texts, they give structure to peoples spiritual yearnings. Some of us feel we are on an individual path of learning and every interaction in the world and with the other souls in it is a challenge to do some good and if not do as little harm as possible. It dismays me to see how at this time so much death, injury and destroyed lives and communities are being caused by followers of religions that the texts, they claim to follow, teach love and forgiveness.

The Bible and the Quran state the meaning of ur life as a human very explicitly.

The reason Im quoting the Quran..is because the Quran and the Bible do not clash. and the Quran was sent in a way to support the teachings of Jesus Son of Mary and the Bible.

God, that refers to Himself as Allaah in the Quran..states:

Verily, I have not created the humans and the jinns save only for them to worship (ME).

Worshp in Islam is not just prayer..but any action you do with the pleasure of Allaah in mind. This is akin to a buddhist..who sees life as a way to the Source.

when your mind does not forget God..when your heart conforms to the divine Love...and when your body listens to your heart and mind and lives the full meaning of:

Do not hurt anyone with your hand, your tongue, your organs.

Then and only then..will you understand the meaning of life...

For it is a journey....without end.

A journey you must start..with the right set of tools...onward to a single destination. GOD

the bible does not contain all the answers. do you think that what God has to say is limited in just one book? it's something we can look into when we lose our way, but it's up to us to find our meaning in the world. life means differently for everyone.

I totally agree, people are taught right from wrong by parents, teachers at school and people they respect.

The bible is just a book with some morals attached to the stories some morals are good but do not read anything else into it.

Read Aesops Fables if you want moral story's its far easier to understand.

Everybody purpose is different. We were supposed to live on earth as prefect humans but because of the sinning of Adam and eve we are no longer perfect but some will soon live on earth and in heaven as perfect humans when Armageddon (the war of Satan and god (of course god will win) ) is over that is when the new system of things will happen ITS ALL IN THE BIBLE
