Yes you can, about a month ago i rented a manual in the Boston area, i'd get in touch first rather than just turn up and ask as they dont have many (they had to get one from another depot for me) but they can and will do it for you.

Sure, there are fewer standard transmissions available because Americans prefer automatics. The best I can tell you can rent just about any vehicle in Southern California and equipped the way you prefer....the price could be a consideration though.

You can request a manual transmission car but it will probably be more expensive. Its the opposite here in the UK! Automatics are a lot more expensive to hire than manual cars.

There are small rental car companies that sometimes have stick shift cars for rent. One is Beach~N~Rides Car Rentals in Leaucadia Ca. 760~633~1300 Most Americans don't want to shift gears if we don't have to!

Sure. Just request it ahead of time. But if you are going to drive in a busy city, you will want the automatic.

yes you can it will cost more as americans drive autos . as in this counrty you can hire auto but it does cost more . i know this as i work for a well known int car hire co.
