I've had cats more or less all my life, and I can tell you they do throw up from time to time, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are ill. They will even eat grass to make themselves sick - it seems to be something they like to do now and then! And yes, it is sometimes a pool of yellow froth! If your cat seems ok otherwise, and is eating , drinking, and acting in a normal cat like way, don't worry. Here's a good site with tips on cat care:

P.S. cows milk doesn't suit some cats - try her on just water.

Try Gerber RICE baby cereal, plain, no flavors. Mix it with a lil bit of regular milk or cats milk from the pet aisle. Warm it until it is tepid. Mix well after heating and test with your pinky finger to make sure it won’t burn the kitty. Then feed it to her lil by lil. The yellow is most likely bile from an upset tummy. Gerber rice cereal is the miracle cure for cats. I don’t know why. But, I had a cat who had kittens and she brought something in to the kittens, a cold or something. Two of the kittens had yeast on their tongue and refused to eat or nurse. They got so sick that they would defecate and throw up at the same time and then were too weak to walk away from it and would lie down in it. They were on deaths door and I didn’t have money for a vet. My sis told me about the cereal and viola! I gave them a lil on the tip of a spoon frequently and within 24 hrs they were remarkably better. It still took them a few days to get over it, but they need that on their tummy so they can heal themselves. I still have two of the kitties who are healthy 11yr old cats.
Try the cereal and by Monday if she isn’t feeling better I would take her to a vet. And watch for her belly to bloat, if it does she needs to go to a vet ASAP.
Again, the yellow is most likely bile, the cereal will help with that. It will help put something mild that her tummy doesn’t have to work too hard to digest and also will help hydrate her a lil.
I hope this helps.. Please let me know how she is doing.
Good Luck!

NEVER GIVE HER MILK, IT CAUSES DIARRHEA AND STOMACH DISORDERS TO KITTENS. About the vomit, it could be anything, the food (variety, milk, etc) disturbed her, her tummy has some gastrointestinal disorder, maybe the yellowish stuff was paste for worms, if you gave her any, it could be a coincidence, I don't know. But you must watch if she does it again, if she is eating - don't push her, just give her some light food, like boiled chicken or Hill's i/d or a/d or Intestinal. If she vomits again and/or she has diarrhea, take her to a vet. I had a kitten who had a really bad case of gastrointestinal disorder, and he spent the week-end at the clinic and he's fine now.

first of all the ride in the car probably upset her, then shes in a strange place, and then it sounds like she was over fed. cats don't need milk. they only should have canned food once or twice a day, morning and night. water is a good idea. give her a few days to adjust and cut back on the food. if it continues, call a vet.

It could be nothing more than stomach acid. Don't panic.
Call your local veterinarian. You should be taking her in for shots anyway. It sounds to me like the cat was anxious and had a nervous stomach from the stress of being moved into its new home.
Does the cat seem lethargic. Look at its eyes, are they open or half closed? How is she breathing? If she is hidding she is scared. Another result of the stress of being moved into a new environment. Cats are very sensitive animals.
Yes, it is normal for cats to throw up. They cough up hairballs too.
A cat will eat until it vomits.

The cat is just probably nervous about its new surroundings, feet it lightly for a few days, no milk that might cause it. I had 2 cats and each one got diarrhea on my furniture when I got them like the first day or second day,I thought O No, but it never happened again.

Cats throw up often. Yours is probably fine, but I would only give it very limited quantities of milk. I've read and have been told (by vets) that dairy isn't healthy for them. I still give mine some, here and there, because I believe that a happy cat is a healthy cat.

I bought a baby kitten from a pet store a while back. I brought her home and she became very sick right away. She threw up a yellow liquid and then started to urinate where she was laying. She would hide away all day and not eat very much. I took her to the vet and they said she had a feline form of AIDS. It is very common in kittens especially if they come from a pet store. her lungs filled with liquid and they had to put her asleep. I suggest that you take her to the vet right away!!!

Don't give her cow milk. This will make her sick. They throw up sometimes because they either have a hairball or they are just nervous about being in a new place. If she is running around and eating and drinking she might be ok.

Your cat may have an illness, or might just be reacting to something it ate. Keep an eye on it and take it back to where you bought it right away if the problem continues. You should be able to exchange or get a refund if you take it back within 72 hours.
