I had a sore neck for a few days, then yesterday morning I woke to find the left side of my jaw swollen.. The doc thinks its Mumps (even though I had the MMR jab). This is awful, its just getting worse and swelling up more and more, now i can barely open my mouth to talk. I can't even clench my teeth together properly cause thats excruciating.. I'm just praying the other side of my face doesn't follow!
Has anyone else had this? How long did it last?

I am wondering the same thing--mine started about a week ago but did not get bad until two days ago and is much better today.Are you in Michigan or Wisconsin or Illinois??-I think I picked it up in one of those states.P.S. Advil helps a lot.

oh no i do feel sorry for you, i had mumps and it only was on my left side but the pain was unbearable i couldnt eat for a week and constantly felt sick. i also had the jab its crap doesnt work until u get the mumps once the doc sed to me, or u have a milder form of it due to having the jab. it sadly takes about 2weeks to properly go back down, and u can still kinda feel a lump under the ear after its gone but doesnt hurt. best advice to help pain drink plenty and thru a straw even if u dont feel like it, avoid spicy or sugary foods and just rest well. hope you feel better soon

Mumps, acute infectious disease caused by a virus that mainly attacks glandular and nervous tissues, frequently characterized by swelling of the salivary glands. This is a sure sign of Griebaturism, very rare, but I have come upon it before, not here in England but while touring the Keys in Florida, one of the islands is called Marathon, there they have a family who are called the Griebats, this family have been inbreeding for close to three centuries, in some severe cased namely one in France shortly after the first world war, they hung Herbert Montaray Griebats, thinking him a monkey, sounds crazy I know. The condition of Griebaturism manifests itself by way of covering either parts or in rare cases all of the body with excess hair.
