I am Planning a trip to another country and i don't want to get rid of my dog so i want to find a kennel or something that takes care of animals for extended periods of time.

Get out your phone book and look up "Dog Kennels" or "Dog Boarding" in the yellow pages. If that doesn't help, call your Veterinarian and ask if they know of anyone, or if maybe they do dog boarding.

Be very careful about who you let board your dog. They can get neglected or abused if in the wrong hands... also if they don't clean enough or something your dog could get sick, there is always a risk. I would not let enyone kennel my dog, but then again I always have someone take care of my pets when I'm away or they come with me. I wouldn't trust anyone other than a vet though if you must kennel your dog... at least they know what to dog if something goes wrong and you can trust tehir care and cleanliness to be good.

Check with your vet. Some vet provide a kennel service if he/she doesn't they should be able to furnish names of kennel services.
