Not surprised a bit. Many groups are getting tired of Christians using their religion to tell others how to live, while many of them live the way they want, even going against laws stated in their religion. It is not up to the Christians, nor any other religious group, to "watch over" other people's actions. If they are so against homosexuality, then they shouldn't do it. But to go to the point of forcing the issue on everyone else simply proves to me that the only reason they are in that religion, is to have power over other people. And, frankly, I'm tired of it. It's hypocritical to tell homosexuals they can't get married, when so many of them get divorced and re-married, which is expressly against their Savior, according to the Bible. They need to learn to clean up their own house, before they go into other's homes and tell them how to clean up.

The 2nd class status that is applied to gays is also applied to any non Christian minority in the US. Like all it doesnt surprise me in the slightest and to be honest there shouldnt be a 2nd class status in a country which stays its greatest asset is its people's freedom.

Why do you speak about Christians only? What about the other religions? And Atheists? Are they more tolerant towards gays?
It's a matter of moral attitude not second class rating. And don't forget the Christian condemns the act not the person as such.

No. Absolutely no one wants to be classified as a lessor person because he or she has an alternative lifestyle. Smokers feel the same way. Atheists feel the same as do Christians. No one wants to be belittled by someone else just because they are different or live there lives differently from others. Promoting ones ideas is somewhat different from degrading others.

They should decline this status.

Then, these same Evangelists that yell so about gays, are also the same ones who put women in the second class citizen situation. Why don't these women fight back?

What? I hope you know what you mean by that because I sure don't get it. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. th Bible makes this clear Jesus makes this clear. We are all sinners. Are you implying that one sin is greater than another? or that you are treated badly by Christians. Christians seek to feed the sheep it is the great commission. We are all sinners and we that have chosen to accept the atonement are to consider ourselves dead to sin not living that lifestyle anymore by serving God. It does not mean that we are perfect because we are only saved by faith that God will complete his work in us.We still live in our sinful flesh in a sinful world and he who endures to the end is truly saved.Perhaps I am misunderstanding your question. are you implying that one could be a Christian and remain willingly in a sinful lifestyle? The answer to that is no. God forbid how can we that are dead to sin abide any longer therein? Read Romans Chapter 6.

"Second class status offered by many Christians" ... ?

I'd be more worried, if I were you, about all the increased risks of deadly diseases resulting from homosexual behavior.

I'd be more worried about the fact that these increased risks have rendered the average American gay man's life expectancy to only about 41 years old.

With all of that to be concerned about, "second class status" allegedly offered to gays is the least of their worries.
