Progress has polutted the rivers and waterways, the oceans, the air we breathe, the food we eat, the way we think.... I never asked for a car or a television so I could sit in a bubble or sit at home and watch people instead of actually interacting with them. One mans greed and ambition is another mans polluted brain and polluted garden. Not all men need to get somewhere fast, but the many that do ruin it for the rest of us and their seems to be nothing anyone can do about it... The perfect world is a walking world. Comments?

Your in a rather small minority Bub: A great man once said "ask not what America can do for you but what you can do for America" I'd change the America and add "Mankind" What have you done for mankind Mister, except cry and complain? Huh!
I've listened to people like you before, they whine, they cry and they complain but when asked what they did to help and try to stave off the problem, they have nothing to say, am I right. 'nough said.

I don't see how religion is just a "control" for the masses...again I urge you people who think so to live at nature's mercy for once, you'll see how insignificant man is, and why religion exists at all.

But I think religion may have lost its way (indeed most of the ecclesiastical religions) seeing as they are victim to society too, they do not live with nature, but rather seek to conquor it. And athiesm seems to be the last step, the total disbelief in any type of religion, thinking that man has truly conquered god or something...but nature wins in the end, and as we kill life on our planet ruining the ecosystem, nature is winning...whenever you break the balance, nature will always be there, but you will not.

That is one way of looking at progress... Then another way to look at it is through progress we will make a better world to live in... You are right, man has made a mess out of the world but, with the help of everyone, we can make it better......

The greed chokes the fool.

The Earth will always win - if it means big ice age winter to kill humans, then that will be justified.

We adapt at the expense of everything - this cost should be accounted for and paid back immediately.

for the most part i shall agree with you, but progress has also given us ways to correct the damage our predecessors and ourselves have and are causing , due to ignorance, appothey and greed. personaly i believe that it should be made a law that all new construction be done as earth shelter and to blend to and promote the eco system in an eco friendly way. just my opinion

When people realize that, they'll have made some 'real' progress.
