My bf was in the marines and he is going to a funeral today. i wanna let him know that his Grandma would be proud of him if she could she him (he's going in uniform) but i'm not sure how to put it. I dont want to upset him.

Simply tell him that his Grandmother would be proud. I don't think that will upset him and it will remind him that even thought she is dead, she will never be truly gone.

Just say to him, "I'm sure your Grandma would be proud at what you've chosen to do in life (joining the Marines). She would say you look so professional in your uniform.

a compliment doesnt kill anyone, just tell him because after all you are not insulting him. As long as he is not looking funnig then he'll have more confidence!
