Why do people always blaspheme our faith and they never blaspheme others?

It is always about the christian faith but you dont hear anyone saying muhammed or allah in there sentances.

I mean taking the lords name in vain for example

we only get picked on because it is the devil tell you to.

DO NOT TAKE THE LORDS NAME IN VAIN OR BLASPHEME

I suspect people instinctively know that G-d is real, & so they blaspheme Him to offend either Him or those who are trying to please Him.

Many people blaspheme Christianity because this meant to be the main faith in Britian. It's what gets taught most in schools, therefore people have more opinoins towards it adn they carry this though to adulthood. If there was a structure in education where children got educated on different religions and understood them, I'm sure then other religions would get more discrimination and blaspheme than they do now.

Everyone's religion is picked on here. I'm not sure just what questions, etc you are clickin on to get that view, but I see Religion in general being picked on. You don't think saying "you're of the devil" is picking on people of other religions? Or "you're going to burn in hell"? I see these types of answers all the time...

And what do you mean by taking the lords name in vain? God, Lord, these things are not names... they are titles. You don't think when someone is talking to Prince Charles, and calls him Lord, that they mean God or Jesus, do you?

Everyone has a right to believe the way they want, and that means other religions. It is just those that do not believe in anything that I am concerned about, but it is their choice too. I know what I believe and am happy about it, so, it is just their loss. I respect others religions, as long as they do not want to kill me if I don't go along with it. I just don't see any sense in blowing yourself up, it just is not much fun, or inspirational. Those 100's of virgins, or whatever are not there, sorry. You made peanut butter out of youself for nothing.

Ours is not the only faith to be blasphemed. However, it is easy to point to a faith which does not worship power and instead focuses on meekness and humility.

Also, spiritual understanding is not a given. People develop it through careful study and exertion of their minds, not thoughtless reaction.

Hm. What's "our faith"?

Just asking, because I always think people feel perfectly alright insulting Christian religions like Southern Baptist or Catholic or Moromons or Jehovah's Witness, where they are automatically more respectful of Buddhists or Hindus or Moslems. (--I am speaking of educated, intelligent adults, btw, NOT the typical internet kid or potbellied, GED, monster tractor-pull neocon, pranking and trolling post 9/11).

The reason they feel alright insulting these religions is because they have the contemptability of all familiar things -- they're homegrown and un-exotic. You will have heard their sales pitch hundreds of times, while Buddhism or Hinduism seems like something off another planet, in terms of newness and unfamiliarity.

That's what I see, anyway.
