The Bible also say that if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off and if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. Still I do not see any one doing this.
1 Timothy was an interpolation made by someone sharing the views of the author of 1 Timothy.. written by someone other than the noted author, Paul, who used Paul's name. This style of writing was very common when the Bible was written.
Paul was very open to teaching women. Romans 16 1-4 mentions Deaconess Phoebe, and co-worker Prisca (who is mentioned first before her husband our of respect, because of her leadership.) Paul identifies eight out of the twenty-six church leaders as women.
If you believe that the first ordination took place at the Last Supper and all who were present were ordained, then women who were also there (and not to just wait on the table) were also there. Women were the first to teach about the Resurrection.
Woman are not ordained because of the "Tradition" not to do so.
If Woman should not teach, then why have women taught Religion in the Catholic Schools, Colleges, Universities, and Religious Education programs? We can not limit our experience of God to the final period in the Bible. God continues to reveal God's self to us in experiences outside of the Bible. There are woman ministers and woman Rabbi's. The shorage of priest in the Catholic Church is not due to a lack of vocations. There are many educated woman who feel God is calling them to the priesthood.

If you read more into it you would know the book of Timothy was write by Paul to Timothy and his church. It is a letter.
Paul is speaking to Timothy about the woman in that church and they way they were acting. It was NOT a rule for all woman in live to not be minsters or priests.
The bible also states :
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear
How come we dont do that..??

That is Paul's opinion. Nowhere else in the Bible will you find that. Actually Paul claims it's according to a law given in the Old Test, yet there is no law given that matches that at all.
I suggest that if you're going to follow such things, that you should be able to back it up. Paul is the only one who states these things.

The Catholic Church is much better than the Baptist Church is. The Cahtolics will have women as lay leaders (no title, tho).
The Baptist Church will not let women preach. I have often heard that Billy Graham's daughter is the one who can really be a good preacher. Yet, because she is a woman, it is Franklin, his son, who is the one to take over their ministry.
Altho, I cannot take side here. I find it very hard to accept the idea of a woman Rabbi or Cantor in my own religion. And, the Reforms and the Conservatives do have them.

Many verses in the bible (both testaments) make women much inferior to men:
1)Wives should submit to their husbands
"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24)
2)Silence the women:
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35)
"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve... (I Timothy 2:11-14)
"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (I Corinthians 11:3)
"For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (I Corinthians 11:8-9)

I agree with you. Others have said that was just for those times. If that is so can say Jesus died for your sin in those times and now if you live an ok life you will go to heaven? What else do get to throw out of the Bible because you want to be politically correct?

Clearly the scripture is refering to "man" as an establishment (ie. I'm just standing up against da man!") and shouldn't be misconstrued as an individual male. Or maybe the bible is just an outdated, sexist dogma of oppression.

Does the bible really say that, or is that just your interpretation of the bible? Or did you hear someone else say that and took their word for it? If the bible says that and means it literally, remember that it was written by people, probably mostly men, maybe all men. In that case, that is probably how most men thought in those times.

same reason they twist why gays are allowed and okay in society....and why many other things are allowed.
they are not true followers of the bible but of a bible they "wish" it was.
God says something about this....
"thall shall not worship another God before me as I am the only God"
