Religion, especially Catholicism, is an INDUSTRY. Religion is BIG MONEY. So, in order to keep people SCARED, the concept of HELL was invented. People PAY MONEY to the Catholic Church in the form of DONATIONS so they will be SAVED FROM HELL.

HELL = PROFIT

Jesus's sacrifice enables our sin's to be forgiven because noone is without sin (Romans 3:23). We cannot practice sin though, and have to try our best not to sin (Romans 7:18-20, Hebrews 10:26,27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)).
Also remember that the 'lake of fire' is in Revelation 20:14,15, and is part of a vision (Revelation 1:1). As it say's, the lake of fire represents the second death, ie death for eternity without hope of a resurrection, and also thrown in were death and hades meaning eternal life for all on earth (Psalms 37:29, Matthew 5:5).

Hey, people, look at yourself, the universe, this planet. It all has a purpose, so do we. The fact that you are here, is the proof that a Creator exists. Believe me, if you tried all day, you could not create yourself. When you talk about we came from this or that, that is saying when we had some kind of matter, or DNA for life. When I say, you say you came from nothing, from the very beginning of time, there was none of that, it was void of everything, even stuff to make people.The Bible is all I have as a Christian, and I am not saying that other religions are not ok too, I am not God, and I know that He is a just God and will judge others as He feels best, but the Bible is all I have to read God's words, so I am going with the New Testament, and try to follow his teachings. I am not taking any chances, and I know in my heart that He does exist, It just makes sense that way, science may can explain some things, but to put it back from the very beginning when nothing exists, it is the only thing that in my heart and mind makes sense. I am sure God will reveal more to us later, after we have learned more to be with Him. I do think that learning continues after death, but if you are going to say that when you die, you just are dead, then that is probably what will happen to you, so I would not be saying that if I was you. About the lake of fire, ok, the bad guys get thrown in there, meaning they go to Hell. Now, if you think there are no rules, then go out and kill someone, and see where you go. It is the same with God's rules, you kill someone, and you go somewhere bad. Now, God knows what is in your heart, meaning if you are serious or not, and if you ask for forgiveness, and truly mean it, then you are forgiven. It does not mean you get out of jail, but you do not go to Hell. You will still be punished here on earth, by the Police. Jesus died for our sins, but if you are not sorry, nor ask for forgiveness, nor acknowledge his existance, nor your Creator, then God is going to judge you. He says, if you do not forgive others, then he will not forgive you either. Jesus' death did not forgive those that do not ask for forgiveness, nor believe in His gospel. Why think those guys get anything, if they do not even want to do right, or ask for forgiveness. They can't have their cake and eat it, you know. But seriously, look at yourself, and see if you can create a human being, perfectly, and see where it gets you without a live giver, your parents, that got their life from the beginning from God, the Creator of the Universe and everything in it, including you. Like it or not, science or not, it is the way of life.

Not sure. But I would LOVE to see where Jesus said in order to have your sins forgiven you have to believe in his death and resurrection. I have looked everywhere for Jesus' words matching that doctrine, and haven't found it yet. Yet in the Old Test, it states no one can take on the sins of another person... so how did Jesus take on the sins of the entire world???? And where does it say "You have to accept Jesus into your heart"?

Religious doctrine made by man and tradition obviously is more important to them than actually reading what it says.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that some people are worshipping a human sacrifice?

Jesus did die for our sins my Friend, BUt that does not automatically take our sins away, God gave the way to escape the lake of fire, But if we don't ask God into our lives & truly live the true Christian way Through the blood of Jesus Christ, Then we still remain sinners. You need to repent of your sins & be Baptise in the Nme of Jesus Christ & then receive the Holy Ghost, which is that seal of promise of eternal life.

Revelation 20:11-15
And I saw a great white throne and the one seated on it. From before him the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.  And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.  Furthermore, whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled into the lake of fire.

Romans 6:23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

when you die your sins die with you, the lake of fire is symbolic in that death and hades are thrown into it to be destroyed forever.

so the end of death will mean you will never die, this is in the time after Gods war of Armageddon where everyone who has died will be resurrected to life on earth and will be judged by Jesus and Jehovah as to where they are fit for eternal life and choose to serve God

The lake of fire is primarily for the devil and the fallen angels and is their place of abode due to their rebellion and pride in placing themselves before the Creator.
Human beings who adopt this way of life(rebellion) and have no love for their Creator will end up there as it will be their rightful place of eternal existence.
those who turn to God and repent of a sinful life and believe that Jesus is their Saviour will not go there at all.

He did die for our sins, but you also have to repent, ask for forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart. You have to believe in Jesus. People that don't believe in Him or that are not saved will go to hell. Just because He died on the cross for our sins doesn't automatically get you a seat in heaven, you have to repent of your sins too. Ask and you shall receive.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resurrection_of_Jesus

quote:
=============================
The Christus Victor view, which is more common among Lutherans and Eastern Orthodox Christians, holds that Jesus was sent by God to defeat death and Satan. Because of his perfection, voluntary death, and Resurrection, Jesus defeated Satan and death, and arose victorious. Therefore humanity was no longer bound in sin, but was free to rejoin God through faith in Jesus.

The lake of fire is not intended for humans. It is the place where the devil and his cohorts are going... Humans will end up there because of their non-acceptance attitude.Their rebellion attitude and selfishness..GOD doesn't want anyone to go their..Its our choice thou as to what we want to believe and that's what is going to get some people in the wrong place..
