Do you need a reason to not believe in something that does not manifest itself in any way? For example, do you not believe in Tooth Fairy because of moral or philosophical issues? I'd think you need a reason to believe in something, right? Well, nothing ever gave me a reason to believe in a god as described in any religion, and, moreover, the way gods are described can be puffed away in a half-a-minute debate thus proving all the books are wrong (he either isn't omniscient so evil happens when he doesn't know, or he isn't omnipresent so he can't handle all evil everywhere, or he isn't omnipotent and can't handle all evil everywhere all the time; or, possibly, he is not good at all and enjoys a hefty degree of evil happening to good people - however you flip it, the Bible, as an example, holds no water)

I think if you look around at your religious leaders you will see who has moral issues. Philosophical issues? Yeah I guess so, because God does not exist except as a fantasy for the mentally weak.

Well, I think it is just down depressing otherwise, to not believe in God. God made rules that do not go along with life styles, so let's say he doesn't exist. What if it is true? What then?

in my case i just simply know the difference between fiction and fact...long time ago people thought that they had to sacrifice people so the sun would rise...where did that idea come from? well ends up to be that damn the sun still rises to this day and no one has that same belief anymore...now everyone wants to be christian and believe that they have to live for and answer to god...but one day it will become obvious to all that this is not true...my great grandma died years ago believing god would save the world now shes dead and still no god...people are afraid of the unknown god is how they explain things away...i guess it makes them feel better?

there are alot of hipocrits that say they believe in god, and dont.
likewise, there are also many that claim they are morally apt,
and put to the test they fail.
realisticly god and morals have nothing to do with desency.
or just being a good person.

could be either one. I think people believe there must be a higher power - to help cope with what we deal with here on earth. I hope there is a God. I believe there is a God. I pray to God.
