There are multiple words for swear, mostly iuro with the various prefixes that change the meaning slightly.

iuro.........I swear, take an oath
deiero.....I swear
iureiuro...I swear an oath
adiuro.....I swear in addition, promise on oath
eiuro.......I refuse or deny on oath
periuro....I commit perjury, forswear oneself

sudo means "I sweat/perspire"

In Spanish "i swear" is lo juro or te lo juro

"Ego juro" (or just "juro") from the verb "jurare"

You may find it spelled "iurare" ("iuro") as Latin words did not originally have "j" in them.
