In Windows XP what does XP stand for?

What I remember when it came out, was the ads saying "Come and eXPeriance Window's now." They were also other variations, so it has something to do with the Window's experience.

Now in college, everyone had just gotten away from "Me" (Millennium Edition) and moved to Windows 2000, when XP came out. Reading about it being the best of 2000 and Me combined, several of the guys said XP stood for... eXtra Painful.

I myself like it (XP Pro), and use it all of the time.

I use Vista some, but the newness has already wore off on it!
