I feed my dog nothing but real food twice a day; she doesn't eat any dog food. The articles below may be helpful to you. You have to put the raw vegetables through a food processor so your dog can digest them. I feed my dalmatian chicken, and lamb, sometimes beef and pork. Dalmatians have problems with kidney stones so I don't feed her too much beef. Pork is kind of fatty so she doesn't get too much of that either. I also feed her eggs a few times a week. I change up the vegetables, zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, bell peppers, green beans, butternut squash. She gets flax seed oil and bone meal with every meal. She weighs 57.5 pounds and I feed her 2/3 cup of meat, 1/3 cup of veggies, and a 1/4 cup of oat bran. I make the meals up in advance with cooked meat and raw veggies, then heat in the microwave for about 30-60 seconds. You don't really want to cook the veggies, just heat them up. She is a very active dog, goes to the park and runs off the leash everyday. Your dog probably weighs more but if she isn't as active will probably eat the same amount. You'll have to weigh your dog once a week at first to make sure she isn't gaining or losing weight. There are alot books available to give you advice. Check out Amazon.

Well you're onto something here, you can cook for your dog. I wouldn't recommend straight human food since it may upset their tummy at first and because ofthe tarter buildup. If I were you then I would mix some high quality(organic or natural) dry dog food with the rice, veggies, and meat. I found this link that seems to back up your idea on cooking for your dog. Here ya go, hope it helps.
Oh, and yes any type of bone can pose a choking hazard especially chicken bones, but they are totally safe if you boil them long enough. The boiling softens the bone and makes it more flexible and not unlike beef jerky is to us. They still enjoy the bone and they will be safe that way!

There are things you can feed them. The first thing that comes to mind is canned salmon packed in WATER not oil. Check out some of the food recipes on line for animals.

Any kind of bone can splinter inside a dog- you should ask your vet or breeder- or get a good book covering natural food selections for pets.

Dogs eat dog food, any good (dry) brand will do. People food puts tarter on thier teeth! Bones can splinter and block thier intestines!

I would try anything that is available and that isn't by-product! Dog can eat anything that is natural, just let your dog eat a well balance meal!
