I am a young Christian myself and have found a station called K-Love. You can go on their website and listen to it online and it is aired almost anywhere. You can go to the site and find out what station that you can pick up where you are. Most of the music is rock, so I like it.
Also keep in mind that Christianity isn't about deeds. Take it slow. It is great that you are stepping in the right direction and making changes. God will lay it on your heart when you need to change something. You are now an example of Christ. Show your love and mercy on others and He will bless you. But don't feel like you have to change everything right away. Let Him guide you. If He has convicted your heart on the type of music you listen to, then K-Love is a pretty good start. It is all music, no talk shows. I hope this helps you.
God Bless you on your walk with Him.

That's a good question and for me , when I decided to give my life to JESUS , I gave up secular music..I only listen to music that glorifies GOD..Why?? Because we are moving towards our Father and in order to better ourselves ,I believe that most secular music is not good for the new Christian.. I have been a Christian for almost 5 years now and I can spot a bad or evil song (if its secular) I do listen to some country and some rock now but the theme has to be GOD driven or I will not listen to it...
As for TV, well that is fairly easy for me .. Although I have a TV , I hardly watch it but in your case , I would choose according to what significance the program will give you in your walk.. If you cannot find a good reason as to why that particular program is good , then don't watch it..I believe there is way too much junk on TV that can and will mess with a new Christians /older Christians thinking...hope this helped

I don't think you have to be too focused on those things, to tell you the truth. Being a Christian is not nearly so much as what entertainment you choose to passively indulge in, but how you plan to get out there and change the world. So if there's a Christian message regarding television, it isn't "watch the Brady Bunch instead of the Osbournes." It is perhaps to spend less time in front of the television, and more time doing the work in the vineyards of the Lord.
of course having music in your life can often help to motivate you to get out there and get at it, so I guess the thing to do is to listen to music that inspires you to do just that.
I don't have a precise definition of music that's good for the soul, other than to say, "When you hear it, you'll know it."

The best way is to be led by the Holy Spirit on these matters. As you are a new Christian perhaps you may not hear the voice of or sense the impressions given in your heart by the Holy Spirit. You will develop this ability when you receive teaching and impartation for these. In the meantime, you can sense the peace of God in your heart (Coll 3:15). If you listen or see something that does not give peace to your heart it is something that the Holy Spirit in you is telling you to avoid. I pray that you will grow to know the Holy Spirit as your personal coach.

I had that same question when I became born again and saved. I noticed that eventually things just started to happen. A couple of years ago you could never get me to watch TBN with the religious speakers, but now I find myself always going to those channels and really enjoying them, although I still watch other things on TV as long as it is not corrupt and evil. As for music, I still listen to songs from the 70's and early 80's. As long as the songs have no bad lyrics about satan and killing and bad language, it's ok. Your conscious will tell you.

It's not an easy thing to do, and when it comes down to it we have to make our own decicions. We have to learn about God through the Bible, (John 17:3) and use Jesus as a living example on how to act, whilst using his sacrifice for our sins as means to have our sins forgiven, when we make mistakes.
As for me somethings are obvious though, things that are demonic I think would be bad (like the Exorcist), and things that glorify violence (Psalms 11:5). Something worth remembering though is that we are living in the last day's (Matthew 24:3-14) and it's not easy to find good things in this world.
If I was you I'd have a Bible study with the Jehovah's Witnesses (2 Peter 3:3-10)

I KNOW I KNOW! You can watch some of the best shows in the world like Queer As Folk and The L Word! For music, try Nine Inch Nails and Tool. They're absolutely perfect!
Don't pray for me. I don't need nor want the prayers of a delusional crackpot.

It is now incumbent on you to filter your selection, lest you may be convinced of your fallacy. It is more important to believe without reasoning , and go to heaven than to question and test and possibly discard your belief when a seemingly "good " argument, posed by satan misleads you. Never forget that Lucifer and his subordinates are in every way superior to humans, that they are more than capable to portray ,what is in reality very silly, as a compelling argument.
hence dear friend , do not open your ears, or your eyes, and heed the words of your lord who said that it was better to cut of your hands or remove your eyes than to sin and face the fire of hell.
