I've been hearing that Satanists don't really believe in Satan (or God), but they just use his name because they like the idea of not following rules, and doing whatever they think will give them more success and pleasure in life, not caring whether it is "immoral" or not. Is this true about all Satanists, or are there some that actually believe in Satan, and worship him?

There are different denominations that are considered to be the core of Satanism today. The Church of Satan founded by Anton LaVey holds that Satan nor God exist and they predominantly exist to mock and antagonize Christianity and the church. The Temple of Set, an off-shoot of the Church of Satan, believes that Satan is not only real but worships him. There are several other branches wit different philosophies.

Yes, there are ones that think that he is the god that needs to be followed.

Then there are ones that follow Satan and don't even know it.
