Personality is key, so I know i'm not shallow in the physical aspect. I have met a lot of girls but I don't move the relationships past friendship even if they're kinda flirting...well at least I think they're flirting, but that's a totally different subject. My friends tell me I'm being too shallow and that I should just give it a try even though i'm not really into them. They tell me "It's not like your gonna marry her". I'm looking for a long term relationship not a one night stand. If I do try though, the friendship relationship would be kinda weird afterwards. Should I settle for what I have or keep waiting for the right girl? If I do make a move I kinda know the relationship will not go so great. And if I keep waiting, I feel like i'm never gonna find that special someone. I know that I'll never know if I don't try, but should I try even though I'm pretty sure it won't work out? What do you think I should do?

You're not shallow but it could be that you always stick with what your first impression is with a person. I mean why don't you try to know a person more by going out with her or being friends with her. Finding that special person is like trial by error thingy. How would you find her if you're just looking around and waiting for her to come for you? You could be just being cautious and like you've said you already would know if the relationship will be not so great, then why not try to conquer what your fears are; we could never find a perfect match though all we can find is our true partner though not perfect but someone whose willing to break the walls of our differences in the aspecct of personality.

Your never gonna know unless you try and the right girl has probably already passed you and you didn't see her because you've been to fixed on not wanting a broken heart to see anything else around you... If you get a broken heart it's really not the end of life as you know it, so just chill out on that and give a girl a chance instead of assuming the worst will happen... life's to short to waste it on fear....

I think you should keep waiting. I'm proud of you for recognizing that this girl is not the one for you. There is nothing wrong with thinking like that. Just because your friends like her doesn't mean she's right for you. I really think that if you try something with her, you will both be hurt.
Stick with your gut instinct and remain friends with her, and keep your eyes open for Ms. Right. You sound like a good guy so she's probably out there somewhere waiting for you!

You are not shallow. Far from it. You do, however, have very mixed emotions/feelings about relationships; that's why you are kinda lost.
Are your parents still together and in a healthy relationship? Find examples in your environment of good relationships; ask them how they got to be so good together. As you shape a clear image of a good & healthy relationship, you will attract one for yourself.

You have to go to the next step with each person you meet, because you never truly know who you will fall in love with.
We usually end up loving a person we wouldn't think would be the one.
Unless you just don't like the person at first sight or meeting.

I do not in any way mean to offend you , but have you considered that what you seek may be a gay relationship?
