I am in love with a man that can't make any formal commitment. How long should I wait and how do I get over him? I am of middle age and afraid. I have never met someone I am so comfortable with.

have you hinted to him about it? there maybe the possibilty of him planning out the proposal at this very moment, he's just waiting for the perfect time...
if you truly love him, you'll give him however long it takes. just make sure he knows you're ready and anxious...
also, keep in mind true love has no expiration date^^

since that you are comfortable then why rush for the commitment? some guys are scared of commitment and he'll be flush off if you keep nagging him the same idea. there's a phobia of commitment if you dont know, so my suggestion is to go slowly and let him know you are afraid and discuss about it. Dont do this regularly just do it like once a long time. Good luck

It seems you may be more comfy with him than vice versa. I guess you can stick by for years and hope for the best or just move on and get what you deserve?!

You can't set a magic # on something like that. If you're ready and he's not you have to decide if you're willing to continue to be patient or move on.
