Generally for security reasons. In flights, it will be effected their signal/communication systems while the passenger talking on mobile.

Two different reasons. Refineries and gas stations because there's a concern about starting a fire or explosion. Defective batteries bursting into flames is a real, albeit remote possibility.
Planes because there's a concern that the RF emissions may affect flight instruments. That's why they allow you to use your cell phone when the plane is taxiing.

same reason they aren't allowed at gas pumps.....the masses are ignorant and believe a cell phone can create a spark cause it has a power source like a battery.
airplanes they say no cause they are "unsure" if it will have any effect on the flight controls, computers, etc. put a cell phone next to your pc, monitor or speakers and have it connected to another line.....should get a feedback noise due to RF and other transmissions.

mobile phones work on electromagnetic signals and during the flight of an aeroplane the radar signsls coming to the aeroplane from the ground station interfere with the mobile signals and hence can lead to huge troubles
