The tree is old
The wind is strong
The soil is dry
The rain is needed
The fire is coming.
Remember Christ's words on the Way of the Cross.
The tree is always there for you. Christ sees, even in his last moments, what will become of the seed he planted. Already, at the time of his crucifixion, the tree was "green". Now, many many years later, we feel his words all around us. To know that this is the one true church, the people, after he died, went away, beating their breasts. He shared their love of the temple, of the respect for the priesthood, of all the things that went before him. When he spoke, his words moved hearts. When he died, he left an incredible legacy.
edit: sorry, I lost my intelligence 1/2 way through that sentence. I'm getting tired, I guess time to say nighty night.

Jesus promised to be with us (His followers - the Church) to the end - His return
MT 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Read Revelations, the 7 churches, you will see that at the end none of the churches will be true
REVELATION 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: AND THE WHOLE WORLD WONDERD AFTER THE BEAST.

what do you mean? The church was the body of christ for all believers, no matter what "generation." It is here until the end of time.

Catholics ARE Christians. The first Christians were Catholic. Please read up on history. The way your question should have began is, "Catholics and Protestants..."
