different HMO's cover different things- I do not know why your HMO doesn't cover vision costs

I've never had an HMO that covered vision. They do it to save themselves money. It's a shame.

Because poor eyesight is not a health issue. If you get cataracts or glaucoma (Heaven forbid) your health insurance will cover that. It must be "medically necessary" for a health insurance company to pay expenses.

Same reason they don't cover dental .. . except for glaucoma, it's not a true "health" issue.
