PPO gives you more alternatives and flexibility but cost more or leaves a larger deductible, HMO is cheaper and less flexible. Many times you see a Nurse practitioner and not a doctor. You always have to see the MD before you can see a specialist. Prescriptions cost less but you get what they choose. Kaiser is a good example of an HMO. It all depends on your personal needs.

It depends on two factors: how much you want to spend & how much you plan on going (or need to go) to the MD. With an HMO, it's usually cheaper to see an MD (get meds, etc) but harder to get to a specialist and you can't just go out and pick whoever you want. With a PPO, it costs a little more for stuff but you have more freedom in who to see (unless you go out-of-network). Usually, PPOs have a bigger network of MDs than HMOs.

PPO due tp you having a wider choice of doctors dentist etc to see where as HMO's give you a limited list of participating doctors ,dentist etc you can see , you may pay a little more for coverage with PPO but it is money well spent

First, I doubt that he would be waiting to acquire the two style of coverage if he's already in chemotherapy. In his case, he could take regardless of style of coverage he can acquire. 2d, for a hypothetical guy or woman who has the choice to elect the two style, I want a PPO. With a PPO, you have greater beneficial flexibility to circulate exterior the community and nevertheless get carry of a few reward (often 80%). With an HMO, you're able to get carry of one hundred% interior the community, yet you get carry of little or not something someplace else.
