Help! I am recently engaged and love my engagement ring. Only problem is, since I have been wearing it, I have experienced hand pain - specifically, stiffness in my ring finger in the first joint, stiffness in thumb, and soreness down my forearm on the outer side. My ring is total 1.5 carat weight probably, and my hand is very small (size 4 finger). Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't think it's your ring unless it's to tight and the blood can't flow through properly. What kind of work do you do?? I would get it checked by the Dr.

It's chapped. I had this happen to me, with a real gold ring also. Do you wash your hands while wearing the ring or put the ring on right after? What's happening is that moisture is getting trapped underneath the ring. This can happen by wearing your ring while washing your hands or not drying them enough before putting it back on. It's causing the skin to get irritated, cracked and then chapped. I fixed the problem by not wearing my ring for a few days. I put lotions on my hands and I exfoliated to get rid of the dead skin cells. After about 1-2 weeks of intense moisturizing, it got better. I was able to wear my ring again. I suggest you do the same.

Yes, an engagement ring may, and has caused many pains....
usually in the area of the bottom!!....... I have more than 1.5 carats in my ears, and I don't have an earache, sorethroat, or a headache. Take the ring off......If your pain leaves, wellllllllllllllllllllll, there's your answer..
