You are a rare American. Few Americans travel outside their county, much less their state.
I am retired Navy, so I traveled a little.
I am a Californian, which means everyone lives here, and there are many festivals, which I enjoy. There are actually one or more a month up here in SF bay area. (Unfortunately, I can only speak English, which limits real interaction.) The Hawaiians just had their Kumu hula Festival last weekend, and tomorrow is the Good Guy Car show, (there are 4 per year.). This years Scottish festival was very cool. And we still have a rodeo and county fair.
I also would suggest looking into subtitled movies. China and others have wonderful movies; currently I am hooked on Bollywood! Also the mythology of other countries is very interesting.
So, yes I enjoy meeting people, and other cultures.

I was born and raised in a small backwoods eastern Kentucky town that is very WHITE. I married my highschool sweetheart at 17, that lasted 4 years until my 13 year old cousin got pregnant by him. I placed an ad in a national magazine and after receiving several letters, I got my first letter from this guy in Chicago that is originally from Costa Rica and on Feb 14th of 1983, got 2 other letters, a friend of his drove him to Kentucky on April 8th, he and I spent 2 days in Kentucky before I hopped on a Greyhound Bus with him back to Chicago, where we married 6 days later on the 14th of April, this coming April will be our 24th anniversary. So I'd said I'm pretty open to other backgrounds considering growing up where I did.
I've traveled to Costa Rica, all parts of the USA, Yellowstone, Hollywood, etc., Greece, Bermuda, Scotland, Ireland, Milan, Canada, Argentina, Belize, El Salvador, Dubai and Germany

I live in Mauritius (know where it is?)We are a melting pot of cultures, and yes I've travelled a lot.Meeting people here or overseas has always thrilled me.I am very open-minded.By the way Mauritius is a tiny island and a popular world tourist destination. For a population of 1.2 million,we greet some 790,000 visitors yearly. So you get to meeting quite a lot of people from across the globe!

My dream,I live on a very tight budget, If I had wealth,I would not miss one country or culture on this planet.I love people and I am fascinated to hear beliefs.I was Blessed ,I have the most wonderful man I have ever known come into my life.He was
born and raised in Cairo Egypt, went to school in Alexandria
He is precious, and has taught me about life in the Middle East
In this life time that is probably as close as I will get.I do study
other cultures.

Absolutely... I'm not going to claim that exposing myself makes my own life richer (it does)... but seriously, there are so many different people and cultures out there, why NOT learn about them? When I visit a new place, I want to do as the locals do, and not be a tourist. I want to sit and chat to locals, and find out what makes them tick.
Personally, I've been to 21 countries and 36 states, and speak 2 different languages well and learned a 3rd.

i love to meet new people and experience new coltures. however i find that i do not have to fly overseas to do so. America is a coltural melting pot. but many that come here stick to their local customs.
i have met Native American Shamen
Maori Chiefs
Vodoun Mambo's
Wiccan High Priest's
Catholic Bishops
Chinese Tai Chi masters
Creole Voodooist
More solitary Pagans than i can count.
some professional sports players (mostly paintball, but i did run into Cal Ripken once, did not know who he was untill about a week later)
and i have only traveled from new york to north carolina on any regualr basis (i did go to texas once,,,wont do that again..i love other places but i hate sand)
